RHSV School of Historical Research

It’s on again…..

Monday November 21 to Wednesday Nov 23

This year we are investigating sources in women’s history.

The school is designed to introduce researchers to a range of sources from the innovative Australian Women’s Archive Project based at the University of Melbourne plus holdings at the State Library and Public Record Office of Victoria, to lesser known collections such as the Women’s Art Register held at the Richmond Library and the women’s collections at the Museum of Chinese Australian History.

The school will be hosted by Dr. Judith Buckrich and delivered by specialist librarians and historians. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet experts in their field, become informed about important and lesser known collections, gain information on access to these collections, build on your own knowledge and lay the foundations for any future research projects.

The school will comprise of six sessions which can be booked individually at $25.00 – alternatively bookings can be made for the full program for $100. Sessions will start at 10am & 2pm and it is anticipated they will last between 1 to 1½ hours.

Monday’s program takes place at the RHSV, with subsequent days being held at the various collections. All venues are metropolitan based. This year to minimise costs to participants we will not be providing a bus as all venues are easily accessible by public transport.

The program is as follows:

Monday AM Dr. Judith Buckrich will provide an orientation for the program & introduce the sources of women’s history in the significant RHSV archive.
Monday PM Nikki Henninghan Director of the Australian Women’s Archive Project will present a hands on journey through this innovative on-line archive
