Exhibition – Remembering ’67

It’s often been said that if you can remember the Sixties, you weren’t there. But the Heidelberg Historical Society knows that it isn’t true, and have the ‘Remembering ’67’ exhibition to prove it!

But why the year 1967 in particular?  The Society celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2017. The ‘Remembering ’67’ exhibition celebrates the year 1967, not just in relation to the Society itself, but to the City of Heidelberg in general.  It sets the local into the wider historical context and touches on the everyday experience of living in the City of Heidelberg in 1967. It features the schools, roads, sport and shopping in Heidelberg as well as the broader political and cultural influences on architecture, pop music and entertainment.

The ‘Remembering ’67’ exhibition is on show at the Old Heidelberg Court House, Jika Street Heidelberg, opposite the gardens. It is open each Sunday until December between 2.00 and 5.00 p.m. with an entry cost of $5.00 (16 years and over).  Special midweek openings can be arranged for groups of ten or more.

You’ll come out humming after being transported back to the year that was 1967.
