    I’ve found the discussion above really interesting as the Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation Society explores these different social media avenues.
    Having established a weekly routine with the blog, we are now working to recruit a range of different writers from within the Society so that we have access to more material, a greater range of voices, and spread the load. Sometimes the material needs a bit of editing, but that is easily done. We hope to build up a ‘bank’ of material to draw on. http://www.pmhps.org.au
    Facebook, in our case, is slower to get going but I feel sure it will go well in the end. Finding material that will attract facebook readers is important. People love to reminisce so photos that evoke old, but not too old, days seem to work well.
