Membership of the RHSV is open. All those with an interest in history are welcome to join.
The membership for the RHSV is for the period July to June. Half yearly membership for the period January to June is available for some categories of membership. Print out a membership form (pdf 36kb).

Benefits
As a member you will receive History News, the newsletter of the RHSV which is published each month, February – November. It provides information on the activities of the Society and its members; notices of forthcoming events; articles of general historical interest; current issues of concern to historians; news from the affiliated societies network and book reviews.

You will also receive the Victorian Historical Journal, published twice yearly. The VHJ publishes and reviews scholarly contributions to Australian history, especially the history of Victoria.  Contact the editor through the RHSV office.

Members are entitled to the free use of the RHSV Library which holds a significant manuscript and images collection, as well as a comprehensive printed collection of material on all aspects of Victorian history, including the publications of societies affiliated with the RHSV. The Library is open Monday to Friday, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

A diverse programme of events is offered to members including lectures, seminars, excursions to sites of historical interest and exhibitions. Evening lectures are held each month with well-qualified speakers on subjects related to Victoria's history. An annual conference is held alternately in Melbourne and one of our country regions.
