The MHSA Victorian Branch welcomes new members and guests and if any of your members are interested in military history they are especially welcome to join us at any time.
We have recently moved to the Oakleigh-Carnegie RSL in Drummond Street, Oakleigh. We meet every fourth Thursday of the month (except December) at 8 pm.
Established in 1945, the Australian Railway Historical Society Victorian Division Inc. has a proud history of over 70 years of catering for all who have an interest in the railway history of Victoria. It has a growing membership of over 500 members throughout Australia and overseas.
The Society recognises that recording the continuing development and evolution of rail transport in our state is as much a part of its future history as events that occurred in the past 178 years.
The Society runs the Newport Railway Museum located at 26 Champion Road, Newport VIC.

The ASM is a vibrant and modern organisation, boasting a grand tradition. Founded in 1907, it is the oldest Magical Society in the Southern Hemisphere and the fourth oldest in the world. It is the largest club in Melbourne, currently numbering 120 professional, part-time professional and amateur magicians.

Promotion of all aspects of the viola da gamba through workshops, concerts, teaching and composition.

Family and local history resource centre, archives and museum, located in the old Avoca Courthouse, which operated as a Court from 1859 to 1979

The object of the society shall be to promote the study, collection, preservation of Bacchus Marsh and District’s history, historical places and objects. To promote and support historical research and publication of same. To hold regular meetings of its members. To arrange displays, the reading and discussion of “papers” as may promote the above objects.

Ballarat Astronomical Society is custodian of the Ballarat Municipal Observatory. BAS provides Friday and Saturday night viewing if the weather is clear. School and other groups can be booked for Monday to Thursday.

Ballan Shire Historical Society Inc aims to collect, record and preserve the history of the people, places and events of the former Shire of Ballan, including Ballan, Gordon, Egerton, Mt Wallace, Fiskville, Blakeville, Colbrook, Morrisons and Ingliston.

Formed in 1978 the BDGS aims to help people discover their family history, with an emphasis on Ballarat and district sources. The society holds a comprehensive genealogical reference library relating to the usual sources, but specialising in Ballarat. Monthly meetings are held with speakers on family history research topics.

The Ballarat and District Irish Club Inc aims to acknowledge our Irish heritage, to celebrate our lifestyle, and to leave a cultural heritage for tomorrow.
The Ballarat Historical Society Inc is based at the Gold Museum, Ballarat. The Society’s collections are housed at the Gold Museum and Ballarat Library. The Society meet’s monthly and is focused on collecting and preserving the photographic and social history of Ballarat.

The Beaufort Historical Society is situated in the former Beaufort Court House, in Livingstone St, next door to the Uniting Church. The society has an extensive collection of family histories, photographs, newspapers, school and cemeteries records, etc.
