DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Hume Global Learning Centre Gallery for the opening of Wonders\, Curios and the Unseen. \n\n\n\n\n\nExhibition Launch: Saturday 2 July\, 2 – 4pm Exhibition dates: 25 June – 4 September\, 2022 \nWonders\, Curios and the Unseen is an exhibition of curious images\, objects and artworks drawn from historical and community collections based in Hume. \nThroughout the ages\, people have collected images\, objects and artworks that represent not only themselves and their own culture\, but also the wider world – its wonders\, curiosities and precious items. Historically\, items were collected\, categorised and housed in people’s homes for private viewings\, until eventually transitioning to being available for public viewing. \nIn homage to those past traditions of collecting that also include the Great Exhibitions\, Salon Galleries and Cabinets of Curiosity\, this exhibition creates a public space for those unique items drawn from local history collections to be displayed and appreciated by all. \nSupporting Contributors and Collections include: \n\nHume Civic Collection\nGeorge Evans Museum Collection\nBroadmeadows Historical Society\nRichard Simmie\, Harpsdale\, Yuroke\nSunbury Historical and Heritage Society\nWurundjeri Woi Wurrung Culture Heritage Aboriginal Corporation\n\nBookings essential.
