Margaret and Alexander Matheson and their four children arrived in Geelong in November 1852 where Alexander found work as a shepherd and agricultural labourer. They lived in the Geelong area, Evansford in central Victoria and Laen in the Mallee, Later the widowed Alexander moved to Nagambie and finally Lygon street in East Brunswick. This is a story of ordinary people and their pioneering days in the new colony, and the legacy they left to their descendants.
