Sydney and an area of 1650 square miles around has for the last six years been developing under the control of a statutory planning scheme administered by the Cumberland County Council: the provisions of this Scheme affect to a greater or lesser degree every man, woman and child in the County. The aim of this book is to describe the planning scheme and its main objectives, the reasons for the latter, the methods used to achieve them- and the progress made so far. The book is illustrated by 10 maps and diagrams in colour and 22 full-page photographs; there is an Index, and the Appendixes include extracts from the relevant Local Government Act and the Scheme Ordinance.
