Description
SECOND HAND BOOK – Ex Library
In the 1860s, Victoria’s Western District and South Australia’s South-east corner were ablaze with secessionist fervour. Ignored by the respective colonial governments, disillusioned colonists briefly came together to foment an emotional new state movement, which flourished briefly and thereafter vanished as abruptly as it began. This colourful and now largely forgotten chapter of Victorian history is here incisely recalled by the late Brother K. K. O’Donoghue, and the new state movement’s manifesto for change, of which only one copy remains extent, is reproduced in facsimile. Here is the colourful tale of the Green Triangle’s dramatic colonial predecessor – the saga of doomed Princeland.
