William Moodie came to Australia as a baby in 1940 and his memoirs begin with the trip out from Scotland on a sailing ship as described to him by his mother, his early life in Melbourne with his parents and two sisters and their journey, with the addition of a baby brother, by spring cart from Geelong to the Casterton district where he lived until his death in 1914.
