MacRobertson's was a confectionery company started in Fitzroy, Victoria by Macpherson Robertson (1859 - 1945) in 1880.
By the early 1900s MacRobertson's had established a reputation for quality and variety and gained a major share of the confectionery market over the English imports.
The MacRobertson's brand was responsible for Cherry Ripe, Freddo Frog and Old Gold which continue today with the Cadbury Schweppes company which absorbed the company in 1967.
Due to Macpherson Robertson's prolific philanthropy, the MacRobertson name appears on some Melbourne locales including the MacRobertson Girls' High School and MacRobertsonland in Antarctica.
