This report documents the history of the site, history of the Jewish community in Melbourne, comparative analysis, statement of significance, conservation recommendations.
The community moved from the site on Exhibition St. to the existing East Melbourne Synagogue located at 494-500 Albert St. East Melbourne in 1877. Among other uses, the site was subsequently used as State School No 2030, by the Salvation Army and by the Methodist Central Mission. [Source: Victorian Heritage Register (VHR) Number H0766]
