The forms commonly include information on the date of construction, architect, builder and construction materials of the property, along with black and white photographs showing interiors and exteriors. AMG (Australian Mapping Grid) coordinates are included.

The range of buildings includes houses -- schools -- universities -- factories -- hotels -- banks -- warehouses -- showrooms and offices located in Melbourne central business district, the suburbs or regional centres in Victoria.

The forms were prepared by conservation architect Graeme Butler for the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and are part of the Butler Collection; a large archive of conservation studies, research files, photographs and related reference material.

The 20th century architecture material is arranged alphabetically in 83 folders, by local government area (LGA) at the time of their creation, c.1981-1982. The attached searchable PDF lists the properties by name and/or address.
