About this object1. W. Anderson and Sons Pty Ltd Richmond and West Melbourne : this firm supplied steam engine castings, building columns, mining machinery, power transmission equipment and many other items.
2. David Munro and Co. Melbourne : After immigrating to Geelong from Scotland in 1854, the family moved to Melbourne, setting up a blacksmith business in King Street which was run by son John Munro. He built bridges for the Victorian Railways as well as mining, agricultural and industrial machinery. The Company built 25 locomotives for Victorian Railways. An account of a radial drilling machine and horizontal boring machines is included.
