The Castlemaine Pioneers and Old Residents Association Inc celebrated its 139th birthday this year. What an astonishing milestone. To mark the occasion the Association is mounting a major historical exhibition in Castlemaine Town Hall on 4th & 5th May 2019.

It will specifically cover the years of 1910 – 1925 with a focus on industry, commerce, churches, schools and society generally with some of its involvement in WWI and its aftermath. There will be veteran cars, motor bikes and push bikes and horse-drawn vehicles on display.

On the evening of Saturday 4th of May there will be music, readings and slides of the period accompanied by a light supper.

It will be a real snapshot of life in one of Victoria’s important shires and country towns.
