Event Navigation
The tour will show how surgery has changed over the years through the evolution of ideas and discoveries in medicine.
The tour takes in a viewing of the historic Hughes room, Council room, Kolbe room, Hailes room, surrounding corridors and the Museum. The items of interest are the Presidential portrait collection throughout the College, some of which have been painted by prominent artists and have been entered in the Archibald Prize. We have one that was the winner.
Other items of interest are the historic furniture, significant mementos to the College, surgical instruments, and the built heritage of the College. It was previously the Old Model School.
We have several exhibitions to be viewed in the Museum – Early Women Surgeons, Arts and Surgery, Plastic Surgery during WW1 and WW2 amongst other material.
