Writing your Family History Book Workshop with Imelda Cribbin
The Nhill and District Historical Society has extended an invitation to Imelda Cribbin from the Institute of Professional Editors. Imelda will be guiding us in an engaging and enjoyable workshop focused on learning how to compile our family history book.
Making the Book Visually Appealing
To ensure our family history book is visually appealing, we will explore the types of information and layout features that attract readers. This includes considering elements such as photographs, clear headings, timelines, and thoughtfully arranged stories that are inviting for everyone who enjoys reading.
Understanding Copyright
The session will also cover important aspects of copyright. This will help us understand how to properly use and credit materials, ensuring our publication respects the rights of authors, photographers, and other contributors, etc.,
The weekend commences on Friday 1st May 2026 with Imelda as guest speaker, talking on research for your book. All are welcome, with no obligation to attend the two day course on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd. Course commences on Satuday at 10:30 am to approx. 4pm.
