Description
SECONDHAND BOOK
Kilmore, as Victoria’s second oldest inland Anglican parish established in 1849, has attracted a widely diverse succession of clergy. All have contributed variously to the community by way of the varied experiences of life and in fundraising, administration and diverse forms of worship and church music.
A great deal is also owed to their families, their wives and their children, who were prepared to support the rector in his demanding work, in their various postings. They have all added to the richness of the various districts to which they were posted.
The more than four hundred biographies in this volume not only cover the district clergy, but others that have impacted on the religious way of life of our communities. These include bishops, the thinkers, chaplains – both military and prison, and the connections of those that served in the Kilmore region.
In the course of combing the many resources other clergy have been noticed and these others have been included in the hope of encouraging further research. This is very much a work in progress and we invite you to contribute and be a part of it.
