SECONDHAND BOOK

Limited Edition, #129 of 200 copies

From the Introduction:

“Rev. George Edwards, a former Secretary of the Marysville and District Historical Society Inc in is early years, was a keen historian.

He undertook his research under great difficulty as he had to travel from Marysville to the city, then on to Lara where the Public Records Office was located in those days.

Long before the time of computers he would painstakingly search the records seeking information of the squatters, the gold seekers and pioneering families. He also did extensive research on the aborigines of the district and within our records at the Local History Centre we have all this information within ten volumes of handwritten notes.

These wonderful volumes of historic significance were bequeathed to the Society along with the copyright to his book. This he collated from these copious notes and this printing of his book comes exactly in the format he developed it.”
